About During modeling, in order to make the chest armor smooth enough, I created a NURBS surface and made its curvature match the actual shape. Make it live and snap the vertices of the polygon armor to the surface so that the surface of the polygon object would match the NURBS surface.

Most objects are NURBS objects including those in the belt, phone and lower leg armor. Most of them are built using circular fillet and then trimmed with the resulting surface curve (which must be a single continuous curve, adjust circular fillet parameters if it's not).

Lighting is done using FG with IBL and one light to cast shadow. Render passes include two shadow passes, an occlusion pass and one reflection pass. The shadow on the floor is blurred (radial) and color adjusted in Shake.
